AVTOVAZ will resume the production of LADA cars with automatic transmission in 2024

AVTOVAZ will continue to expand the equipment of its models after some options were not available due to the cessation of supplies of relevant components. As Maxim Sokolov, President of AvtoVAZ, stated in an interview with Forbes, during 2024 it is planned to resume the production of LADA cars with an electronic stability control system (ESP) and an automatic transmission. It should be reminded that earlier airbags, air conditioning and heated front seats, as well as ERA-GLONASS module with a mechanical activation system reappeared on LADA cars.

In 2023, AVTOVAZ also plans to return the anti-lock braking system to its models. Experts of the agency "AUTOSTAT" noted that the share of "automatic" transmission in the sales of LADA cars was quite low. So, in none of the months of 2022, it did not even reach 9%. At the same time, the market share of the automatic transmission was noticeably higher in the Vesta and XRAY families (18% and 26%, respectively, in average), while in Granta it is at a very low level (slightly more than 1%).
