UAZ «Patriot» and «Pickup» were left without automatic transmission

Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant has suspended the accepting of orders for the Patriot and Pickup models with an automatic transmission. In the price lists of these versions, information appeared that they were «temporarily unavailable». The reason why it is no longer possible to order a «Patriot» and «Pickup» with an «automatic», UAZ does not name. Obviously, this is due to the EU sanctions, which legally banned the supply of French PunchPowerglide 6L50 gearboxes to the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant.

Meanwhile, UAZ has already begun to install the Chinese 5-speed «mechanics» from BAIC on its cars, and it is likely that the company will also be able to find a new supplier of automatic transmissions in China. Recall that earlier UAZ «Patriot» with an «automatic» could be ordered in three trim levels at a price from 1 million 935 thousand to 2 million 140 thousand rubles. UAZ «Pickup» with automatic transmission was offered in two versions costing 2 million 025 thousand and 2 million 240 thousand rubles, respectively.

As AUTOSTAT previously reported, in November Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant began to equip the Patriot and Pickup models with Euro-2 engines, which appeared on the UAZ Hunter off-road vehicle and cabover SGR family (old cargo series) in early autumn. Recall that the Euro-2 standard was canceled in Russia in 2005, but now it is allowed due to a lack of imported components. For UAZ Profi, simplified engines are not yet offered. Currently, the model is equipped with a ZMZ gasoline engine with a volume of 2.7 liters (150 hp), an alternative to which can be a similar gas-gasoline internal combustion engine (143 hp).
