Sales of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles in Russia in November fell by 61.6% to 46,403 vehicles. According to the results of 11 months of 2022, the Russian car market was 548,877 vehicles (-60.9%), according to the data of the Association of European Businesses. Meanwhile, according to the experts of the agency "AUTOSTAT" with reference to the data of JSC "PPK" *, the Russian market volume of new cars in November of 2022 was 51,525 units, which is 48.8% lower in compare with the same month of the previous year.
At the same time, experts note that in relation to October of this year, the Russian car market showed an increase of 19%. Since the beginning of the year, 569,536 passenger cars have been purchased in Russia, which is 58.8% lower than in January-October of 2021. Leadership in the market is held by the domestic brand LADA – last month, Russians purchased 21,207 of these cars (+1.1%).
Among foreign cars, the Chinese brand Chery again became the most popular, the result of which was 5537 cars (+84.3%). Thus, Haval moved down to the third place of the sales ranking with 4,467 sold vehicles (+13.9%). Geely is the next, the models of which were chosen by 3,351 buyers (+42.8%). Kia cars were sold in the amount of 3251 units, which is 72.5% lower than the previous year.
The TOP-10 of leaders of the Russian car market in November also included Hyundai (2394 units, -76.3%), EXEED (1609 units, an increase of 4.4 times), Renault (1227 units, -86.8%), Toyota (1161 units, -84%) and UAZ (943 units, -39.6%).
