KAMAZ plans to sell 50,000 vehicles in Russia in 2023

KAMAZ plans to sell about 50,000 vehicles in Russia in 2023 and increase its market share. Sergey Kogogin, General Director of KAMAZ, stated this, by adding that by the results of ten months of this year, KAMAZ kept its market share at the level of 44%, despite the difficulties with components. As noted, the introduction of sanctions most of all influenced the release of a new model range, which turned out to be more dependent on foreign suppliers. But in August, the company had solved the difficulties with the supply of components, having used stocks and not stopping the production until that moment, the press service of KAMAZ reported.

"Today, we produce at least 100 and 150 cars of the K4 and K5 generations, respectively, every month. And until the end of the year we will keep this rhythm. KAMAZ coped with the main import substitution program," Mr. Kogogin emphasized. According to him, large-scale work has been carried out to localize components, and from February 2023 it is planned to ensure the full-scale production of K5 generation trucks using components that do not depend on supplies from unfriendly countries. As a result, KAMAZ intends to produce 500 vehicles of the K5 generation every month, with a further increase in the production plan to 700-1000 vehicles per a month.

"Our goal in this direction is to produce 10 thousand cars of the K5 generation in total by the end of 2023. At the same time, our global goal is to return to our development strategy, to develop a line of K5 vehicles, the efficiency and fuel efficiency of which have been confirmed in real operating conditions. The resumption of production will be phased," said the head of KAMAZ.
