What happens to the import of cars to Russia?


New passenger car market decreased twice in November


Experts of the agency "AUTOSTAT" have already reported that in November the residents of the Russian Federation bought new cars by 19% more than in October. On the other hand, comparing this result with what it was a year ago (in November of 2021), it turns out to be almost 2 times less (-48.8%). Recall that according to JSC "PPK" *, in the last month of autumn of this year, 51,525 new passenger cars were purchased in Russia. At the same time, three-quarters of the indicated amount fell on domestic and Chinese brands (22,141 and 16,138 units, respectively).

Thus, the share of the first mentioned brands was 43%, and the latter - 31.3%. In third place by popularity there were "Koreans" (5,804 units) with a market share of 11.3%. Also in November, Russians purchased 3,686 cars of European brands (share - 7.1%), 3,356 - Japanese (6.5%) and 400 - American (0.8%). Only the "Chinese" manage to demonstrate the growth in the falling Russian car market, the volume of purchases of which in November grew by 54%. Domestic brands show a slight drop (by 1%), while for the rest it was in the range from 60 - 90%.

Experts of the agency "AUTOSTAT" also noted that in relation to November of the previous year, the share of "Chinese" has tripled, and domestic brands - doubled. The share of Korean brands, on the contrary, decreased 2 times for the year. For the "Japanese", it decreased almost 3 times, and the most affected were the "Europeans", the market share of which fell almost four times. The "Americans" have this figure at about the same level.
