The most popular new electric vehicles in Russia are American and German

80% of all purchased new electric cars in our country belong to American and German brands, experts of the AUTOSTAT agency report with reference to the data of JSC "PPK"*. So, according to the results of 10 months of 2022, Russians purchased 843 American electric vehicles, which is 40.3% of the total. The share of German brands accounted for 39.7%, which corresponds to 830 units. The lion's share (97%) of all electric cars from the US belongs to the Tesla brand. However, along with it, Ford and Chevrolet also appeared in this segment of the Russian market from the "Americans".

But the "Germans" are represented by a wider company: Volkswagen, Audi, Porsche, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, MINI and Smart. But the most significant group is still the "Chinese" - from January to October in the Russian Federation, more than 15 different brands of new electric vehicles were bought from the Middle Kingdom (183 units in total). So far, their share is only 8.8%, but the next year it is likely to grow significantly. Recall that for 10 months of this year, the Russian market volume of new electric cars was 2,090 units, which is 34% higher than in January-October of 2021.
