Chinese brands own a third of the Russian car market

According to the results of the 47th week (from November 21st to November 27th) of 2022, the share of Chinese brands in the Russian market set another record, by reaching 33.4%. This is reported by the experts of the agency "AUTOSTAT" with reference to the data of JSC "PPK"*. In other words, every third new passenger car purchased during this period turned out to be Chinese, which amounted to 3561 units. Despite this, Russian brands are leading by origin (4478 items), the share of which was 42% of the total volume the last week. "Chinese" brands are the second, and the third place was occupied by "Koreans" (1133 units; the share - 10.6%). In the brand rating, domestic LADA still excels, the market volume of which, by the results of the 47th week, was 4259 passenger cars. There are three "Chinese" cars at once behind it - Chery (1276 units), Haval (934 units) and Geely (706 units). Korean Kia finished the TOP-5 (642 units).

Among the Chinese models, Chery Tiggo 7 PRO crossover turned out to be the best again, which was purchased in the amount of 748 units last week. In the overall standings it is only the second one and the domestic LADA Granta is the first one (2554 units). Behind Chery Tiggo 7 PRO there are two LADA models at once – SUVs Niva Travel and Niva Legend (724 and 587 units, respectively). Chinese crossover Haval Jolion (400 units) is also in the top five.
