Sales of the Russian electric vehicle Atom will begin in 2025

Sales of the new Russian electric vehicle Atom are planned to be launched in 2025. This was announced by Harald Grubel, executive director of the start-up company Kama JSC for the production of this electric car, by adding that the functional prototypes of Atom will be presented the next year. Earlier it became known that the company "Kama" expects to attract investments of 150 million dollars.

According to RTVI sources, 20 million of these funds are planned to be spent on the purchase of an idle Ford plant in Naberezhnye Chelny. It is planned to establish the production of electric vehicles on a full cycle, including welding and body painting. The production of stamped parts is supposed to be transferred to the enterprise of the Turkish company Coskunoz in Yelabuga.

According to the plans, four models of electric cars will be developed on one platform: a 2-door urban Duo, Family, a taxi and a commercial vehicle for delivery services. All four models will have a range of 500 km on a single charge. Maximum speed - up to 170 km / h. In addition, Kama has already reached preliminary agreements with Rosatom, according to which it will supply batteries for electric cars, the production of which is planned to be launched at a future plant on the territory of the Baltic NPP in the Kaliningrad region.
