The production of passenger cars decreased by 64% in October 2022

According to Rosstat, for the first ten months of 2022, 386,000 passenger cars rolled off Russian assembly lines, which is 65.7% lower than in the same period of the previous year. Meanwhile, 37,000 cars were produced in October, which is 63.9% lower than a year before. It should be noted that Kaliningrad Avtotor began work on reconfiguring the conveyor and preparing for the launch of the production of new brands of cars, which will take place before the end of 2022, in early October.

Thus, today AVTOVAZ, UAZ, Tula plant Haval and Lipetsk Motorinvest continue to operate, while the conveyors of other enterprises remain idle due to sanctions restrictions or a shortage of components due to a break in supply chains due to the situation around Ukraine. In particular, Nissan, Mercedes-Benz and Mazda have announced the cessation of production of their cars in our country and withdrawal from the Russian market. The production of trucks in January-October was 114 thousand units, which is 22.8% lower than the figure for the same period of the previous year.

In October, 11,000 trucks rolled off Russian conveyors, which is 39.8% lower than a year before. It should be noted that KAMAZ reduced the production by 13.8%, by producing 3,785 trucks. In addition, Ford announced the cessation of production of Transit cars in our country and the exit from the joint venture with the Russian Sollers.
