Sales of Iranian sedans Iran Khodro Tara began in Russia

Private car dealers have begun the sales of Iran Khodro Tara sedans supplied under the parallel import scheme. Earlier it was reported that the Iranian brand will officially enter the Russian market in the first quarter of 2023. The Iran KhodroTara sedan is equipped with a 1.6-liter gasoline engine with 113 hp and automatic transmission, front-wheel drive.

The basic equipment of the model includes driver and passenger airbags, cruise control, air conditioning, rear parking sensors, media system, and alloy wheels. The Iranian sedan Iran Khodro Tara is a converted version of the Peugeot 301 model. The length of the model is 4519 mm, width - 1953 mm, height - 1466 mm. Trunk volume – is 640 liters. According to Denis Migal, General Director of the Fresh Auto marketplace, due to the optimal cost, Iran Khodro brand cars can replace not only European models that are no longer supplied to the Russian market (Skoda Rapid, Volkswagen Polo), but also push out demanded Korean cars of the mass segment (Hyundai Solaris and Kia Rio).

Andrey Olkhovsky, General Director of Avtodom Group of Companies, says that the prospects for Iranian cars are not obvious yet - it is necessary to import and test demand for them. But at the same time, they will become an obvious competitor for the domestic AVTOVAZ both in terms of price and characteristics.
