More than half of Russian families have a car
  • 10.04.15 More than half of Russian families have a car

51% of Russian families have a car now - such data was received by specialists of the agency "AUTOSTAT" within on-line survey, conducted in September of 2014, which was attended by more than 26 thousand respondents.

The President of the Russian Federation announced measures to support the car market

Cars should become much more affordable for Russians to buy in the current conditions, Russian President Vladimir Putin said at a meeting with the government. “Despite all the difficulties with logistics, with the delivery of spare parts and so on, everyone understands where these prices come from, although here you need to carefully look at all the components associated with pricing. Nevertheless, we need to look at the validity of these prices and add more so that cars become more affordable for Russian families,” RIA Novosti quoted the head of state as saying.

Experts of the agency "AUTOSTAT" remind that a sharp rise in prices for cars happened in March. Then, against the backdrop of the depreciation of the Russian ruble, caused by the consequences of the special operation, new cars rose in price by 35-45%. But then the ruble began to strengthen, and the number of brands that raised car prices began to decline them in the spring. During the summer and autumn, there were only isolated cases of an increase in the cost of cars, and some Chinese manufacturers even reduced them.

Today, new cars are inaccessible to many Russians, including "thanks" to their cost, which has only increased since the beginning of the year. So, if we consider the top five most popular models, then the minimum price of LADA Granta since January 2022 has increased by 18%, LADA Vesta - by 30%. And the popular "Koreans" (Kia Rio, Hyundai Solaris and Creta) during this time have become more expensive by 40 - 45%. In addition, Vladimir Putin supported the proposal of the Ministry of Industry and Trade to extend preferential car loans to the military, including mobilized citizens and their families.

Currently, this state program is available to families with at least one minor child, doctors and teachers, as well as drivers who are buying a vehicle for the first time. In addition, the conditions apply to those who trade-in a car older than six years, provided that they have owned it for at least a year.
