He also had various advanced training courses, including those at the University of Cambridge, The Hague Academy of International Law and the International Training Center of the UN ILO. In 2002-2005 he worked as a lawyer at Noerr and in 2004-2005 as a senior lawyer at CMS. In 2005, he moved to Porsche Russland, where, until his new appointment, he held the position of director of legal support and external relations.

At the same time, since 2012, he has been the chairman of the working group for relations with government bodies of the AEB Automobile Manufacturers Committee. Thomas Sterzel was a leader of Porsche Russland since 2009, leaving the position of the company's CEO in mid-September. In February, he also stepped down as Chairman of the AEB Automobile Manufacturers Committee. Dmitry Kurdyukov then left with him. In the third quarter, Porsche was considering options for its presence in the Russian market, including the sale of its three subsidiaries in Russia to an independent third-party investor, according to Volkswagen AG's financial report. To this end, sales negotiations have been intensified with potential interested buyers.

The deal is currently expected to close within the next 12 months. As a result, assets of EUR 543 million and liabilities of EUR 206 million are classified as held for sale in the financial statements of Volkswagen AG. Recall that Porsche stopped deliveries of cars to Russia in early March 2022. According to the results of ten months of 2022, 1,719 Porsche cars were purchased in Russia, which is 65.1% lower in compare with the same period of last year, experts of the AUTOSTAT agency reported with reference to the data of JSC "PPK"*.
