The fact that an alternative environment may appear in the auto insurance system, on November 9, during the live broadcast of AUTOSTAT Operativka, told Oleg Zevakin, the general director of the AvtoAssist company, which acted as a partner of the event. According to him, auto insurance is now in a depressive trend. There are both objective reasons for this (a drop in the share of the solvent population, the departure of foreign manufacturers against the backdrop of sanctions, etc.), and subjective ones (not very skillful, sometimes one-sided, in favor of insurers, reforming OSAGO). This led to a reduction in the interest of a significant number of car owners in purchasing policies. The share of cheap fakes of OSAGO policies or their complete absence among Russian drivers reaches, according to some experts, already 20-25%. And if car sales fell by 60%, then the sales of policies fell by 70%.

At the same time, the liberalization of OSAGO tariffs turned out to be very conditional - it, on the contrary, increased the tariffs. Let's add the sanctions of manufacturers, which led to an increase in the cost of spare parts and their shortage - insurers reduced the share of repairs in reimbursements by more than a half. "Reducing of these costs for insurers puts their partners – dealers – in a difficult situation. In fact, the insurer shifts costs to them and strengthens the depressive trend in this segment," Mr. Zevakin believes. Another trend in this market is the reduction of qualified personnel, both quantitatively and qualitatively (the decline in salaries was followed by the departure of professionals). At the same time, it was originally planned to make the insurance services market civilized, to form road service standards there.

The main conclusion made by the experts of the AvtoAssist Company, by evaluating the auto insurance market, is that insurers have not coped with their burden of driving one of the leading types of insurance. The current situation is characterized by a progressive degradation of qualifications, the destruction of chains of ties with partners, and growing expectations of unfavorable development scenarios. Mr. Zevakin suggested that against the background of this degradation, an alternative environment for customer service may appear. Because these 20-25% of car owners who drive without OSAGO policies, as statistics show, get into an accident and still need repairs.
