Individuals began to bring cars from abroad more often

In Russia, the share of individuals in the structure of imports of new cars is growing. So, in September 2022, it increased to 32%, said the executive director of the agency "AUTOSTAT" Sergey Udalov. According to the expert, the lion's share of imported cars is the so-called "official China". In total, 11.3 thousand new passenger cars were imported to Russia in September, among which 3.6 thousand units were imported by individuals. At the same time, about 500 cars are parallel imports. Almost 63% of new imported cars arrived in September from China. The share of Kazakhstan was 6.6%, the UAE - 5.3%. Cars were also brought from South Korea (4.7%), Belarus (3.8%) and Japan (3.5%).

Used cars in September were imported into our country in the amount of 27.1 thousand units. Among them, 99% were individuals. Most often, used cars are delivered from Japan (68%). However, Sergei Udalov notes that the share of imported cars from this country is gradually falling. Previously, up to 90% of used cars were brought from there. Belarus is far behind, in second place among countries in terms of the number of used cars imported (8%). The third place of the rating is occupied by Armenia (6.9%). Germany (5.7%) and South Korea (4.4%) follow. According to Sergei Udalov, the share of imported used cars is only about 6% of the Russian secondary market.

This is not enough to saturate it in this way. The import of imported cars is primarily limited by logistics, namely the capacity of ports and railways.
