Automotive market fell by 56% in Russia

According to the results of 10 months of 2022, there were bought 653.7 thousand vehicles were purchased in our country, which is 56% lower than in the same period of the last year. This became known during the online broadcast “AUTOSTAT Operative. Operational information in the Russian car market. Results of October 2022”.

The largest drop was shown by the passenger car segment. From January to October, Russians bought 518 thousand new cars, which is 60% lower than for 10 months of 2021. So far, as you can see, deliveries through parallel imports cannot replace the lost volumes. LCV market fell by 48%, the volume of which for the reporting period was 60.4 thousand units. Commercial vehicles are most often used by legal entities, which (unlike "physicists") feel better, agency experts say. The truck market fell by 19% (to 65.7 thousand units). Here, Chinese brands have played a key role, taking the place of automakers, which have left the market.

In addition, KAMAZ launched quickly the production of vehicles after the sanctions were imposed. But the smallest drop for 10 months of this year was shown by the segment of buses - by only 5% (up to 9.5 thousand units).
