Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant presented a collection series of the UAZ-469 SUV, dedicated to the 50th anniversary of the model. The special version received the characteristic historical features of the UAZ-469 - a tailgate, additional folding seats in the luggage compartment, as well as a folding soft awning with arcs that can be installed instead of a removable metal roof. A chrome plate of the anniversary series and a serial number of the model are installed on the side and stern of the car, UAZ press service reports.
The off-road preparation of the anniversary UAZ-469 includes a power body kit, an electric winch, breathers brought to the frame and a snorkel to increase the depth of the ford to be overcome. Models of the anniversary series are equipped with off-road tires BF-Goodrich AT dimensions 235/85R16. In the cabin, eco-leather seats with double red stitching, black headlining, and doors with plastic card inserts draw attention. The driver's and front passenger's seats are heated.
As previously reported by "AUTOSTAT", Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant disclosed the company's development strategy for the coming years. According to Mikhail Guryanov, technical director of UAZ, the company does not plan to produce new models, but instead will focus on import substitution of components that are supplied from abroad. We are talking about 53 partners, including 22 local offices. They ship about 400 items to the plant, and UAZ plans to abandon completely their supplies. So, Ulyanovsk plant plans to replace all these parts with Russian and Chinese counterparts.
The company also wants to find suppliers from the so-called "friendly" countries that can supply, among other things, automatic transmissions, airbags and traction control systems. In addition, UAZ plans to resume the work on the electrification of existing vehicles in the near future.
