The chief designer of innovative KAMAZ vehicles Sergey Nazarenko said that the mass production of KAMAZ trucks of the K5 generation will begin in February of the next year during the broadcast of the international online forum of innovative transport technologies Avtonet - 2022. At the same time, according to the Business Online portal, this will be the production of "sanction-resistant and import-substituting trucks."
Sergey Nazarenko noted that KAMAZ is currently working practically without the production plan reducing and feels good. So far, the enterprise is forced to produce the older K3 family, but in a few months the K5 family will be produced in the amount of several thousand vehicles per month. Recall that sales of the new generation K5 began in 2020. Trucks of this generation include several families.
The first vehicles of the main family appeared - truck tractors. A little later – there were appeared vehicles of a heavy family, including dump trucks and a truck tractor. In the spring, the assembly of K5 vehicles was difficult due to the high percentage of foreign components involved in production. The main task facing the enterprise was the localization of imported components.
