In Russia, used cars began to become cheaper

The average price* of a used car in October 2022 was RUB 1,220,000. As the experts of the agency "AUTOSTAT" noted, this is 3%, or about 35 thousand rubles, less than a month earlier. Recall that the last time used cars fell in price in May, and for the next four months, their average price grew. Experts connect its decline in October with an increase of the number of offers in the market.

“People started to put cars up for sale more often, which leads to more choice for potential buyers. And such competition makes lower prices in every segment and age group. This is also facilitated by the leaching of “young” and more expensive cars from the market,” explains the head of the analytics department of the agency “AUTOSTAT” Andrey Toptun.

However, if we compare the current figure with what it was a year ago (in October 2021), then the price increase in the "secondary" was 40%, or almost 347 thousand rubles. At the same time, experts do not exclude that the decline in prices for used cars may continue.
