Yandex will buy 10,000 new taxi cars

Yandex.Taxi agreed with car manufacturers on quotas that guarantee the allocation of cars for deliveries to taxi companies. According to the Vedomosti newspaper, citing its sources, these quotas permit taxi companies that are partners of the service to buy up to 10,000 cars in 2022. For comparison: in previous years, the average demand for cars of Yandex.Taxi partners was 40-50 thousand new cars annually.

The company will continue to negotiate quotas with automakers to return to this level of fleet replenishment the next year. As previously reported by "AUTOSTAT", the price of a taxi ride may double if the so-called "law on taxi" is adopted. According to the bill, as a result of an accident, the responsibility will fall to a greater extent on the aggregator. According to the chairman of the All-Russian Association of Passengers, Ilya Zotov, the driver in this case should also be equally responsible with the booking service. "Solid liability should be replaced by subsidiary liability," he says. That is why the cost of the trip may increase, as aggregators immediately include all the risks in it.
