Automobile plant Moskvich begins the selection of dealers in Russia

Moskvich Automobile Plant closed the acceptance of applications for obtaining the status of an official dealer for sales and maintenance of Moskvich brand cars. For three weeks, 340 questionnaires were received from 23 cities of Russia, and the leaders are Moscow, St. Petersburg, Yekaterinburg and Orenburg, the press service of the automaker reports. In 2023, the company plans to expand its dealer network to other cities, based on plans to assemble Moskvich cars. Recall that at the moment the Moskvich car plant is in the active stage of preparation for the start of car production, which is scheduled for December this year. By the end of this year, the company plans to produce about 600 vehicles, including 200 electric vehicles.

Next year, the production volumes will grow to 50,000 vehicles, among which 10,000 to 20,000 will be with an electric engine. The full production cycle with welding and body painting is scheduled for 2024. It is planned to produce five models under the Moskvich brand: four crossovers and one sedan. Recall that Moscow government and KAMAZ agreed on a parity distribution of shares in the capital of Moskvich automobile plant and investments in its development in the amount of 5 billion rubles. KAMAZ will act as a technological partner of the project.

A roadmap has also been formed for the creation of a Russian unified vehicle platform, on which the model range of the domestic passenger car industry will be developed.
