It is not enough used car sellers for dealers

The largest auto dealer of the Russian Federation ROLF is expanding its staff to develop business in the segment of used cars. The company is looking for employees, including in the regions. ROLF and other dealers are talking about a shortage of ready-made specialists in the market. Particularly acute there is the problem of specialists in the purchase of used cars and service specialists - the most promising business areas now. The situation escalated, among other things, due to the announcement of partial mobilization: some of the employees left their jobs, while the number of people willing to sell cars increased.

"The reduction in the supply of cars up to 7 years on the market is due to the growing shortage of new models. Against the backdrop of a shortage, the replenishment of dealers' warehouses through trade-in is now reduced to a minimum. This trend became noticeable in the spring of 2022, and it is already obvious that in the near future, dealers will continue to replenish their warehouses mainly through buyouts "from the street". The classic trade-in will be replaced with a used for used exchange. Therefore, it can be expected that the supply in the secondary market will remain rather limited, and the dynamics of sales will depend on the work of the departments of repurchase of dealerships," Nikolay Baskakov, director of Avilon Used Cars, informed AUTOSTAT.
