The share of Chinese brands in the Russian market has almost reached 30%


Chinese companies continue to strengthen their positions in the Russian car market. According to the experts of the agency "AUTOSTAT" with reference to the data of JSC "PPK" *, according to the results of the last week, the total market share of Chinese brands was almost 30%.
So, from September 26th to October 2nd (39th week of 2022), the residents of the Russian Federation purchased 2,562 new cars of Chinese brands, which is 29.4% of the total. Thus, the share of "Chinese" has reached the maximum level for the whole time of presence in the Russian market.

Above them there are only Russian brands, which accounted for 39.8% the last week. But the "Koreans" have more than two times backlog from the "Chinese" - their share for the reporting period was 12.8%.

The TOP-3 of brands by the results of the 39th week included two Chinese brands. Domestic LADA is the leader there - 3298 purchased new passenger cars. Chery is the second one (1091 units), Haval is the third one (658 units).

Approximately the same alignment is in the model rating. It is still headed by LADA Granta – cars of this family have sold 2,171 units for the last seven days. Two Chery models are the next - Tiggo 7 PRO and Tiggo 4 crossovers (488 and 476 units, respectively). The fourth position is occupied by Haval Jolion crossover, which was purchased in the amount of 441 units. LADA Niva Travel SUV (372 units) finished the top-five.
