According to Rosstat, for the first eight months of 2022, 325,000 cars rolled off Russian assembly lines, which is 64.6% lower than in the same period of the previous year. Meanwhile, 25,000 cars were produced in August, which is 69% lower than a year before.
It is worth noting that in August AVTOVAZ resumed the production of LADA Niva Travel off-road vehicle in a simplified configuration and returned to a full working week after the "four-day period" that had been operating at the enterprise since June. In addition, UAZ and the Tula plant Haval, as well as partially Kaliningrad Avtotor, continued to operate, while the conveyors of other enterprises remained idle due to sanctions restrictions or a shortage of components due to a break in supply chains due to the situation around Ukraine.
The production of trucks in January-August was 91.7 thousand units, which is 18.3% lower than the figure for the same period of the previous year. In August, 11.2 thousand trucks left the Russian conveyors, which is 2.6% lower than a year before. It should be noted that KAMAZ increased the production by 70.5% in the last summer month, by producing 3,329 trucks.
