Japanese automaker Mazda is in talks with its partner, Sollers, and other stakeholders in Russia to pull out of operations in the country entirely due to supply issues. This was reported to the TASS agency by the press service of the Mazda Motor headquarters.
“Since spring, parts and assemblies have ceased to arrive at our enterprise; since April, the production has been stopped there because of this. Prospects for the resumption of production are not defined. Therefore, it was concluded that it is now difficult to conduct the production in Russia,” said Mazda Motor.
Recall that Mazda Sollers Manufacturing Rus is a joint venture of Mazda Motor Corp. and "Sollers", created on the principles of partnership 50/50. The design capacity of Mazda Sollers plant is 100,000 vehicles per a year. The volume of investments in the project was about 10 billion rubles. The plant in Vladivostok produced Mazda CX-9 full-size crossover, Mazda CX-5 crossover and Mazda6 sedan.
