AVTOVAZ will expand the configuration of LADA cars in 2023

AVTOVAZ plans to resume the production of vehicles with anti-lock braking system (ABS) in 2023, and closer to 2024 - with vehicle side stability system (ESP). This was announced by the head of the company Maxim Sokolov during a meeting in the Federation Council on the development of the automotive industry.

“We also plan to return the possibility of producing a 16-valve engine in May the next year. Such key factors of a modern car as an automatic transmission, four-wheel drive and a modern engine are, of course, possible, but not quickly solved tasks that require serious funding,” said the president of AVTOVAZ, quoted by the TASS agency. According to him, the development of an automatic transmission will cost about 30 billion rubles, other 10 billion rubles is needed for a new manual transmission, and other 20 billion rubles - to create an all-wheel drive for cars.

Let's remind, now AVTOVAZ produces cars in the simplified complete sets. At the same time, LADA models are gradually returning options that were not available until recently due to the lack of appropriate components: air conditioning, airbags, the ERA-GLONASS emergency response system with a mechanical activation system.
