Land Rover has unveiled a special version of the Defender SUV, prepared for the 75th anniversary of the model, which will be celebrated the next year. Recall that the predecessor of the Defender, the Series I SUV, was introduced in 1948 at the auto show in Amsterdam. The car, which was supposed to be a temporary financial help for the company after the war, turned out to be a long-liver and gained cult status.
According to the Motor.ru portal, the 75th Limited Edition is available for the Land Rover Defender with an index of 90 and 110, but not for the long-wheelbase 130. The three-door variant was valued at £85,995 - 89 thousand 995 pounds (5.9 million rubles at the current exchange rate), and the five-door - at 89 thousand 995 pounds (6.2 million rubles). Orders for the novelty have already started, but the number of units has not been disclosed yet: it is quite possible that the circulation will be limited by 75 SUVs - by the number of years the model has lived - as is usually the case in limited versions.
So, the SUV in the special version of the 75th Limited Edition is painted in Grasmere Green, referring to the shade of the body of the original Series I. It was used to the maximum: five-spoke wheels, inserts in the front panel and door cards are painted in green. In addition to the historical color, Defender received a special badge with the inscription "75 Years" under the tailgate handle.
The seats of the anniversary Defender are upholstered in Resist black, and the center console is trimmed with Robustec fabric, the most durable used in the design of an SUV. Together with the vehicle, the Lifestyle Collection line of accessories debuted in the same Grasmere Green, which includes a watch with two straps, a backpack and branded clothes.
The 75th Limited Edition is based on a rich HSE package, which includes matrix headlights, all-round cameras, a head-up display, a wireless smartphone charging compartment, three-zone climate control and a Pivi Pro multimedia system with an 11.4-inch display. Also on the list there is the latest generation of Terrain Response.
In the technical part, no changes: Defender is offered with petrol and diesel engines, as well as with the plug-in hybrid power plant P400e.
