Mitsubishi has introduced a new generation of ASX compact crossover for the European market. The production of new items will be launched at the Renault plant in Valladolid (Spain), and sales will start in March 2023, the press service of the Japanese brand reports.
The new Mitsubishi ASX, built on the CMF-B platform of the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi alliance, was developed specifically for the European market. The crossover has a flowing silhouette, while the characteristic line rising towards the rear, combined with the sloping roof, give it a dynamic appearance.
The new Mitsubishi ASX's powertrain lineup is led by a plug-in hybrid (PHEV) with a 1.6-liter gasoline engine, two electric engines (alternator starter and main engine), an automatic multi-mode transmission and a 10.5 kWh battery. The hybrid powertrain (HEV) includes a 1.6-liter gasoline engine with two electric engines, an automatic multi-mode transmission and a 1.3 kWh battery. A mild hybrid combines a 1.3-liter turbocharged gasoline engine with direct fuel injection and a 6-speed manual or 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission (7DCT). The base version in the new ASX lineup is a 1-litre turbocharged petrol engine and a 6-speed manual transmission.
