According to the results of eight months of 2022, about 420,000 vehicles rolled off the Russian conveyors, which is 60% lower than the figure for the same period of the previous year. This was announced during a meeting on the development of the automotive industry in the Federation Council by Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, Albert Karimov, by noting that the dynamics of production generally corresponds to the market, and the share of cars produced in Russia in total sales amounted to about 80%.
According to Albert Karimov, the volume of passenger car production in January-August fell by 64% and reached 321,000 units. The sector of trucks and buses suffered less than others, where the decrease was about 14%, the TASS agency writes. At the same time, the production in August in relation to July is dynamically recovering: the production of cars of all types was 37 thousand units, which is 26% higher than in July.
Recall that AVTOVAZ, UAZ, Tula plant Haval and partially Avtotor continue to operate among car manufacturers, while the conveyors of other enterprises remain idle due to sanctions restrictions or a shortage of components due to a break in supply chains due to the situation around Ukraine. As for trucks, today they are produced at the Gorky Automobile Plant, KAMAZ and Ural Automobile Plant.
