BelGee may launch a new Geely sedan

The Belarusian plant "BelGee" plans to launch the production of a new Geely sedan. General Director of the enterprise Gennady Svidersky said it in an interview with the Belarus 1 TV channel, by noting that today BelGee produces only crossovers, and the appearance of a more low-cost class car in the line will satisfy the demand of corporate clients. According to the Chinese Automobiles portal, earlier BelGee brought fourth-generation Geely Emgrand sedans for testing and possible certification, and in the most affordable configuration - with a manual transmission.

In 2023, the Belarusian plant will start the production of Geely KX11 mid-size crossover, which is certified for the Russian market under the name Monjaro. Earlier it was reported that in our country the novelty will appear in the fourth quarter of this year, while at the initial stage it may be Chinese-made cars. With this model, Geely will enter the D-SUV segment in the Russian market for the first time. In addition, BelGee is considering the prospects for the production of electric vehicles - in particular, the Geometry C model is being tested at the enterprise.

The head of BelGee also confirmed that the plan to supply 15,000 Geely vehicles to Russia by the end of the year would be fulfilled. According to him, the Russian market occupies about 80% of the company's production volume. Meanwhile, in 2023, BelGee plans to expand the geography of exports to the EAEU countries (Armenia, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan), and is also negotiating the supply of cars to Serbia.
