AVTOVAZ allowed dealers to sell Chinese cars

AVTOVAZ has allowed its dealers to sell cars of Chinese brands. Dmitry Kostromin, vice-president of sales and marketing of AVTOVAZ, said about it. "Once our lineup was complete, it naturally helped dealers 'add up' the economy. Therefore, we forbade our partners to sell cars of other brands. Today, as we all know, the situation has changed, and therefore for some time we meet them halfway, allowing us to combine sales of different brands. True, with one important condition – not to the detriment of LADA brand, with full compliance with our technological standards," said the top manager of AVTOVAZ.

Some LADA dealers not only offer Chinese cars to buyers along with AVTOVAZ products, but also place cars in the same showrooms. So, DFM models appeared in one of the LADA car dealerships in the Moscow region. It should be noted that AVTOVAZ dealers also sell Chery and FAW. According to the data of the AUTOSTAT agency, as of mid-July 2022, there were 812 dealer centers in Russia selling and servicing passenger cars and LCVs of Chinese brands, which is 1.5 times higher than the total number of dealers of Russian brands (541).

At the same time, until 2013 inclusively, domestic brands always had more auto centers than the "Chinese" ones. Since 2014, the situation turned in the opposite direction. Among the "Chinese" in terms of the number of dealers, Chery is the leader - 149. Also, Haval and Geely have more than a hundred auto centers (119 and 104, respectively). JAC has 89 dealerships, Changan and FAW have 86 each, and EXEED has 63. Other Chinese manufacturers have less than 50 dealerships. LADA has the largest dealer network in the Russian market among all brands - as of mid-July, it had 307 auto centers.
