By the results of 8 months of 2022, the weighted average price* of a new passenger car in Russia was 2,290,000 rubles. This is 22% higher than a year ago, and in relation to 2014 it increased by 129%. Such figures were announced during the "AUTOSTAT Operativka" by the executive director of the analytical agency "AUTOSTAT" Sergey Udalov. Despite the fact that the situation on the market is changing every week, the agency's experts still believe that at this stage of market development, we can talk about some kind of price stabilization.
Their main growth took place in April, when the Russians had an understanding of the shortage of cars on the market and the desire to buy a car cheaper than it would cost tomorrow, but then, in accordance with the situation in car dealerships, prices practically stopped and while there is some stabilization. Experts believe that the weighted average price may be somewhat affected by Chinese brands (they may slightly increase it) and the domestic LADA (which, on the contrary, may slightly reduce it due to the quantity on the market).
*Recall that the weighted average price of a new car is calculated based on average values of prices and sales volumes recommended by the distributor for each model, taking into account modifications (engine size, drive, transmission, body).
