LADA Niva Legend will receive a more powerful engine in 2023

In 2023, AVTOVAZ will start the production of a three-door LADA Niva Legend SUV with a more powerful engine. This was stated by AVTOVAZ President Maxim Sokolov at the presentation of the Niva Togliatti Center, without revealing details. According to him, this innovation will be implemented taking into account the numerous wishes of fans of the VAZ SUV. Currently, a 1.7-liter gasoline engine is installed under the bonnet of LADA Niva Legend, developing 83 hp and 129 Nm of torque. The car is equipped with a permanent all-wheel drive system with the ability to lock the center differential and switch on a reduction gear range. Recall that in July, AVTOVAZ began the sales of the three-door SUV LADA Niva Legend in the new Classic configuration of the 2022 model year, which was developed to ensure the maximum possible localization of the car, eliminating the impact of a shortage of imported components.

The basic version of the Classic includes power steering, power front windows, Isofix child seat mounts, daytime running lights, trip computer, stamp-welded 16-inch wheels, steel crankcase, audio preparation (antenna and wiring harnesses for two front speakers), as well as ERA-GLONASS module with a mechanical activation system. The cost of LADA Niva Legend is from 808.9 thousand rubles. According to the results of eight months of 2022, 6735 LADA Niva Legend SUVs were purchased in the Russian market, which is 66.6% lower in compare with the same period of the previous year, according to the data of AUTOSTAT agency and Electronic Passport JSC.

According to Pragmatika Group of Companies, 70% of LADA Niva sales by the end of the year will belong to the state program of preferential car loans, within which a 20% discount is provided.
