AVTOVAZ sold 12,000 LADA cars in simplified trim levels

AVTOVAZ, which has been producing its models in simplified configurations since June, has sold about 12,000 vehicles produced in accordance with the new technical regulations. Among them, 11 thousand cars are LADA Granta models and about 1 thousand are LADA Niva Legend. Also at the end of August, sales of LADA Niva Travel started. "It is worth saying that shipments of LADA Granta with airbags have begun. This car had great difficulties with components, and our task today is to satisfy the market demand that has developed for such cars. We are already reaching the planned figures, and these are about 10,000 vehicles or more," said Dmitry Kostromin. Recall that in addition to airbags and air conditioning, as well as the ERA-GLONASS module with a mechanical activation system, also reappeared in the equipment of LADA Granta. In 2023, AVTOVAZ also plans to return the ABS anti-lock braking system and the ESP vehicle lateral stability system to LADA vehicles. According to Dmitry Kostromin, in 2023 AVTOVAZ is ready to produce up to 500,000 vehicles. But everything will depend on the needs of the market, on the economic and technological situation in the country and the world. "As far as the market forecasts are concerned, in the base case we expect a smooth recovery. Next year will be better than this one. At the same time, the automotive market in 2023 will mainly consist of LADA cars and Chinese brands.

It is possible that other brands will restore their production, but we are not afraid of competition," he said. As AUTOSTAT previously reported, at the beginning of June, AVTOVAZ resumed the work from the production of a simplified LADA Granta, in mid-July, a three-door LADA Niva Legend SUV in a special configuration returned to the conveyor, and a month later, the production of the Niva Travel model was resumed. LADA Largus station wagon should be the next to return to the production.
