At the end of August 2022, the Russian market volume of new light commercial vehicles (LCV) was 5,052 units. As experts of the agency "AUTOSTAT" noted after the processing and analyzing the relevant data of JSC "Electronic Passport", this is 6% higher than in July, but 58% worse than the result of August 2021. The leader of the LCV market remains the domestic brand GAZ, which accounted for 55% of the total volume in August, with 2,764 sold vehicles.
Two more Russian brands – UAZ and LADA (1075 and 379 units, respectively) are in the top three. The best foreign brand in this market is traditionally the American Ford, the result of which in the last summer month was 238 units. And Korean Hyundai finished the TOP-5 with 123 cars. In the model rating of the LCV market, GAZ Gazelle NEXT keeps the leadership - in August, cars of this family were purchased in the amount of 1407 units. With more than a two-fold lag, UAZ 3909 and GAZ 3302 (541 and 518 units, respectively) are the next. GAZ 2752 (379 units) and LADA Largus VU van (320 units) are also in the top-five.
As for the results of 8 months of this year, a little more than 50,000 new LCVs were purchased in Russia during this period, which is 45% lower than in January-August of 2021.
