Sales of LADA Granta and Niva reached the pre-crisis level in August of 2022

In August, AVTOVAZ sold 18,087 LADA passenger cars and light commercial vehicles in the Russian market, which is 6.9% lower than a year before. Meanwhile, in compare with the previous month, sales growth was 75.2%, according to the press service of the automaker. AVTOVAZ’s bestseller in August remains LADA Granta, the sales of which increased 2.3 times in compare with August 2021 and reached 11,580 vehicles. Recall that a year before, AVTOVAZ also experienced difficulties with the supply of necessary components, and the production lines were periodically idle.

The average monthly sales of LADA Granta were 9286 cars the previous year, which is lower than the result of August 2022. Sales of LADA Niva Legend SUVs in August were 1,782 units, which is 17% higher than in August 2021. Last year, the production of LADA Niva SUVs also periodically encountered difficulties in the supply of components. Thus, the August sales of LADA cars of only two families (Granta and Niva) almost reached the level of 2021, when a line of five models was produced. As AUTOSTAT previously reported, all enterprises and subsidiaries of AVTOVAZ Group, including LADA Izhevsk plant, switched to a full 5-day working week from August 29th, 2022.

At the same time, a 6-day work week with a rolling day off has been introduced at the AVTOVAZ car assembly complex in Togliatti. In the second half of 2022, AVTOVAZ plans to produce almost 140,000 LADA vehicles, which is twice as much in compare with the first half of the year.
