Premium SUV Models: which ones have the best residual value?

Experts of the agency "AUTOSTAT" in the framework of the survey "Safety of the residual value of the car" (Residual value) identified the premium models of the SUV segment at the age of 3 years, which have the best residual value according to the results of the 2nd quarter of 2022. The leader of this rating was the SUV Mercedes-Benz G-Class, equipped with a 4-liter gasoline engine and "automatic". Three years after the purchase (which was made in the 2nd quarter of 2019), the Residual value of this model was 180.1% in average.

In other words, the owners of a 3-year-old Mercedes-Benz G-Class SUV today can sell it for significantly more than the price at which it was bought. The second place among 3-year-old premium SUVs is also occupied by the Mercedes-Benz G-Class SUV, but already in the AMG version. It has the same equipment (4 liter petrol engine and automatic transmission) and its residual value is 174.8%. Another representative of the German car industry - Porsche Cayenne crossover with a 3-liter gasoline engine, "automatic" and all-wheel drive finishes the top three of leaders of our rating.

The RV index for this model at the age of 3 years in the 2nd quarter of this year was 168.9%. As for the rest of the premium SUVs, many of them have residual values over 100%. And this applies to models of almost all brands owned by Russians - not only premium, but also mass. The reason is the rise in prices for cars, which was very sharp this spring.
