The market of new trucks in our country is falling, but sales of such vehicles are growing among Chinese brands, and quite significantly. This conclusion was made by the experts of the agency "AUTOSTAT" based on the results of processing and analysis of the relevant data of JSC "Electronic Passport". So, for 7 months of 2022, 8,745 new trucks of Chinese brands were purchased in Russia, which is 2.2 times higher than in January-July of the previous year. At the same time, the entire truck market for this period shows a drop of 21%. During the reporting period, the "Chinese" accounted for 20% of the total volume of the Russian truck market (a year ago it was 7%). At the same time, in recent months their share has been much higher: in May it was 25%, in June - 31%, and in July - already 40%. It is sold more only products of domestic brands, the share of which according to the results of 7 months is 56%.
Over 90% of all trucks from China belonged to four brands - Shacman / Shaanxi (3800 units), Howo (1909 units), JAC (1301 units) and FAW (1121 units). Among them, only the last brand shows the “modest” growth (+18%), while for the other three it is in the range from +116% to +226%. Three quarters of all purchased Chinese trucks are dump trucks (6608 units). During the reporting period, their volumes increased 2.6 times. It is also worth noting truck tractors (488 units) and construction equipment (456 units), which together own more than 10%. Their sales also increased – 3.3 times and 2.3 times, respectively.
