Renault's most popular models were revealed in July of 2022

According to the results of July, 1,780 Renault cars were purchased in Russia, which is 84.7% lower in compare with the same month of the previous year. For seven months of 2022, the market volume of the French brand was 33,514 cars (-58.7%), according to the data of the AUTOSTAT agency and Electronic Passport JSC. The most popular Renault model in the Russian market in July was the Logan sedan with 613 cars (-78.2%).

The second place was taken by the compact crossover Renault Duster, which was chosen by 523 buyers (-85.6%). The third result was shown by Renault Sandero hatchback - 335 sold cars (-84.5%). As previously reported by "AUTOSTAT", on May 16th, agreements were signed on the transfer of Russian assets of the Renault Group to state ownership. As a result of the transactions, the shares in the assets will be distributed as follows: 100% of the shares of CJSC Renault Russia were transferred to the Moscow government, 67.69% of the shares of AVTOVAZ became the property of the Russian Federation represented by FSUE NAMI, subordinated to the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia.

The remaining shares of AVTOVAZ were retained by Rostech. An important condition is the option for Renault to repurchase its stake in AVTOVAZ, which can be exercised within the next 6 years. As for the Moscow plant "Renault Russia", it has been renamed "Moskvich", and the Renault lineup will not be produced there.
