In July, every third car bought in Moscow and St. Petersburg was Chinese one

Despite the fact that in July LADA became the leader in the Moscow car market, and Kia in St. Petersburg, the locals still gave the greatest preference to the "Chinese". As the experts of the agency "AUTOSTAT" found out based on the results of processing and analyzing the data of JSC "Electronic Passport", about a third of the market belonged to the share of Chinese brands in both megacities. Thus, for the whole July, 1,630 new passenger cars from China were purchased in Moscow, which is 32.1% of the total.

According to this indicator, the "Chinese" for the first time outstripped the former leaders in the capital market - the "Koreans", the share of which in July was 21.8% (1,108 units). A similar situation has developed in the market of St. Petersburg. Previously, Korean brands also dominated there, but they lost the title to manufacturers from the Middle Kingdom the last month. Thus, new cars of Chinese brands in July sold 746 units, which correspond to a share of 32.5%. The result of the "Koreans" was 702 cars and 30.6% of the market, respectively. Thus, in July every third car bought in Moscow and St. Petersburg was Chinese.

At the same time, in both cities, Geely brand became the best of the "Chinese", and its Coolray crossover was the first in a similar model rating. If we consider the overall standings, then in July they entered the TOP-3 both among brands and among models.
