In Russia, the market share of truck tractors is falling

Experts of the agency "AUTOSTAT" have already reported on a sharp increase in the share of dump trucks in the Russian market. Meanwhile, in the course of processing and analyzing the data of Electronic Passport JSC, they also recorded a drop in the share of truck tractors. If in January-February of this year the share of tractors was 31-34% of the total market of new trucks, then in March this figure dropped down to 25%, and in the period from April to July it is already balancing at the level of 12-14%.

Experts note that sales of truck tractors in our country are falling much faster than the truck market - for the first 7 months of 2022, these figures were -51% and -21%, respectively. At the same time, in the segment of tractors, European manufacturers (especially from Sweden and Germany), who joined the anti-Russian sanctions, "suffered" more seriously than others. "At the beginning of the year, approximately 45% of sold tractors belonged to Swedish and German brands in total. According to the results of July, their total share is only about 5%. On the other hand, the share of Russian tractors during this time has grown from 40% to 60%, and Chinese - almost from zero to a quarter," says the head of the press service of the agency "AUTOSTAT", Azat Timerkhanov.
