AVTOVAZ resumed the production of LADA Granta with airbags

AVTOVAZ resumed the production of LADA Granta cars equipped with airbags for the driver and front passenger. The price of the basic version of Granta, equipped with a driver's airbag, starts from 753.5 thousand rubles, the press service of the automaker reports. From August 23rd, all LADA Granta cars of the 2022 model year, starting from the basic configuration, are equipped with a driver's airbag. In more "older" versions, cars can additionally be equipped with a front passenger airbag and front belts with pretensioners. The design and settings of the security system, as well as the steering wheel with an airbag, are similar to those used on LADA Granta earlier.

LADA Granta Classic’22 is equipped with a 1.6-liter engine with 90 hp adapted to run on AI-92 gasoline and 5-speed manual transmission. Fuel consumption in the combined cycle is 6.5 liters per 100 km. Recall that in early August AVTOVAZ resumed sales of vehicles equipped with the ERA-GLONASS emergency warning system. From August 1st, all models of the LADA Granta and LADA Niva Legend families in the trim levels of the 2022 model year are equipped with this device, while the cost of cars remains the same. In addition, earlier AVTOVAZ resumed the production of LADA Granta family cars equipped with air conditioning, which account for about 80% of sales.

In 2023, AVTOVAZ also plans to return the ABS anti-lock braking system and the ESP vehicle lateral stability system to LADA vehicles. According to the results of seven months of 2022, sales of LADA Granta in the Russian market fell by 66% to 28,659 vehicles.
