Moskvich Automobile Plant will develop its own electric vehicle platform

The Moscow Automobile Plant Moskvich will develop its own electric vehicle platform. This was announced by the CEO of the enterprise Dmitry Pronin in the Telegram channel. He also confirmed the plant's plans about the production of about 600 vehicles by the end of 2022, 200 of which will be equipped with electric motors. As previously reported, in 2023 the Moskvich enterprise will produce at least 50 thousand cars, and in 2024 - 100 thousand.

The number of electric cars will be 10 and 20 thousand, respectively. The full production cycle with welding and body painting is scheduled for 2024. It is planned to produce five models under the Moskvich brand: four crossovers and one sedan. Recall that Moscow government and KAMAZ agreed on a parity distribution of shares in the capital of the Moskvich automobile plant and investments in its development in the amount of 5 billion rubles.

KAMAZ will act as a technological partner of the project. A roadmap has also been formed for the creation of a Russian unified vehicle platform, on which the model range of the domestic passenger car industry will be developed.
