The share of "Chinese" cars in the Russian market has set a new record

Chinese automakers continue to increase their market share in the Russian Federation. According to the experts of the agency "AUTOSTAT" after processing and analyzing the data of JSC "Electronic Passport", according to the results of the third week of August, it set a new record. So, from August 15th to August 21st, 2022, Russians bought 2,590 new cars of Chinese brands, which is 26.4% of the total. As a result, the share of "Chinese" has reached the maximum level for the entire time of presence in the Russian market.

According to this indicator, they are already confidently bypassing the "Koreans", the share of which for the reporting period was 16.1%. There are only Russian brands above, the result of which is 39%. According to the results of the third week of August, three Chinese brands entered the TOP-5 of brands at once. Domestic LADA is the leader - 3613 of sold new passenger cars. In second place there is Korean Kia (936 units), followed by the representatives of China: Haval (732 units), Geely (719 units) and Chery (672 units).

In the model rating "Chinese" also distinguished. It is still headed by LADA Granta, which has sold 2,529 units for the last seven days. But the second place was taken by Haval Jolion crossover, which was purchased in the amount of 546 units. The third position is occupied by LADA Vesta (486 units), the fourth by Geely Coolray (421 units). Chery Tiggo 7 PRO finished the top-five (398 units).
