According to the results of July this year, the inhabitants of our country became the owners of 430,000 used cars. As the experts of the agency "AUTOSTAT" noted, this is 22% higher than in June (353 thousand units), but 19% lower than the result of July 2021 (530 thousand units). Russians still give the greatest preference in the secondary market to the domestic brand LADA –they purchased 104,000 of these used cars last month, which corresponds to 24% of the total volume. Toyota remains the leader among used foreign cars, the result of which was 47.4 thousand units.
There were bought 2 times less of used cars of brands Kia (23.9 thousand units), Hyundai (23.8 thousand units) and Nissan (22.5 thousand units). The indicators of each of the remaining brands were less than 20 thousand cars. LADA 2114 "Samara-2" hatchback keeps the leadership in the secondary market among models, which sold 10.1 thousand units in July. Behind it, with the same results, there are Kia Rio and Ford Focus (9.6 thousand units each). Hyundai Solaris is a little behind (9.5 thousand units), and the LADA 2107 sedan (8.7 thousand units) finishes the top-five. In addition to them, the TOP-10 of the most popular used cars in July included: LADA 2170 Priora sedan (8.2 thousand units), Toyota Corolla (7.6 thousand units), 3-door LADA SUV 4x4 Niva (6.6 thousand units), Toyota Camry (6.6 thousand units) and Volkswagen Polo (6.3 thousand units).
We also note that according to the results of 7 months of 2022, 2.6 million used cars were purchased in Russia. This is 21% lower than in January-July 2021 (3.3 million units).
