The Board of Directors of AVTOVAZ discussed plans for the development of the enterprise

A regular meeting of the AVTOVAZ Board of Directors was held at the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia under the chairmanship of the Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov. The meeting participants discussed the results of the development of the automotive industry and the plans of the Russian auto giant in the new economic and geopolitical realities, the press service of the Ministry of Industry and Trade reports.

As noted, AVTOVAZ has developed special versions of LADA Granta, Niva Travel and Niva Legend models, first of all, in order to load the capacities of production sites. This made it possible to restart the production in a short time, regardless of the supply of imported components. At the meeting, attention was focused on the need to continue the implementation of anti-crisis measures aimed at stabilizing the situation at AVTOVAZ. To maintain the level of income of employees during the 4-day working week, funds were allocated for organizing temporary employment. The action plan also includes stimulating consumer demand, subsidizing temporary employment of personnel and R&D costs.

According to the data of AUTOSTAT agency and Electronic Passport JSC, AVTOVAZ retains the undisputed leadership in the Russian market - for seven months of 2022, 83,564 LADA cars were purchased, which is 63.5% lower than in the same period of the previous year. As AUTOSTAT previously reported, in the second half of 2022, AVTOVAZ plans to produce almost 140,000 LADA cars, which is twice as much in compare with the first half of the year.

From the end of August, the extended shifts will be organized at the enterprise, which will last for 10 hours, and from September, AVTOVAZ will switch to a six-day working week on three lines. In addition, in March 2023, the production of the flagship model LADA Vesta will begin at the Togliatti site of AVTOVAZ, which will allow the plant to reach a production volume of up to 400,000 cars per a year the next year.
