There are a hundred less dealers in Russia, but the number of "Chinese" among them is growing

According to the monitoring conducted by the agency "AUTOSTAT", as of mid-July 2022, there were 3,102 official dealerships* for the sale and maintenance of cars in our country. If we compare this figure with the figure three months ago (3203 in April), then the number of car dealers has decreased by 101 ones.

The decrease in their number in the 2nd quarter is explained by the fact that 160 dealer contracts were terminated, and 59 new ones were signed. At the same time, almost all new contracts were signed with Chinese brands. The leader in this regard was EXEED, which had 13 more dealers for three months. FAW's dealer network has grown by 9 auto centers, Chery's - by 7, Geely's - by 5. Haval and JAC have 2 new dealers each.

The reduction in the number of dealerships is observed primarily among European and American brands. Thus, Opel and Volvo decreased by 2 dealers, MINI - by 3, Cadillac - by 5. The French companies Renault and Peugeot lost 6 and 7 official showrooms, respectively. Jaguar and Land Rover had 11 of them. But the Chevrolet network from UzAuto lost the most dealerships - 35 at once.

Among Japanese brands, the overall losses are still small - minus 8 dealers. But the Korean and Russian automakers' dealer networks remained at the same level as three months ago.

Experts explain the growth in the number of dealers of Chinese brands by the fact that they do not support anti-Russian sanctions and continue to work in our market, actively increasing their share in it.
