The Gorky Automobile Plant is preparing for the mass production of the new generation Sobol NN car, which is scheduled to be launched in the fourth quarter of 2022. The release of the Sobol NN line will begin with cargo and passenger vans, and other modifications will appear in the future, the press service of the automaker reports. GAZ Group's investment in the project will be 3.25 billion rubles, among which 828 million rubles is a soft loan from the Industrial Development Fund (IDF).
The appearance of the Sobol NN city van in the GAZ line of vehicles reflects the rapidly growing demand from delivery services and companies operating in the online trading segment for a compact, maneuverable and at the same time roomy and comfortable delivery vehicle. Due to its small dimensions (car length - 5120 mm; height - 2430 mm) and small turning radius (5.4 m), the vehicle can easily move in heavy traffic, drive through narrow streets and busy warehouses, park in yards without creating interference with passenger traffic.
It should be noted that the Russian brand GAZ unconditionally dominates the LCV market - in the first half of this year, its share increased by 3.5 percentage points and amounted to almost 46%. Experts of the agency "AUTOSTAT" came to this conclusion after processing and analyzing the data of JSC "Electronic Passport". So, in the reporting period, 18,474 light commercial vehicles of this brand were purchased, which is 34.2% lower than in January-June of 2021.
