Trucks from China became the leaders of the Russian market for the first time

Chinese trucks have become the most popular trucks in Russia. This fact was discovered by the experts of the agency "AUTOSTAT" during the processing and analysis of the data of JSC "Electronic Passport" on sales of automotive equipment for the second week of July 2022. Thus, for the period from July 11th to July 17th, 630 new trucks of Chinese brands were sold in our country. In turn, sales of new trucks of domestic brands were 617 units. Thus, the "Chinese" for the first time became the leaders of the Russian market in this segment. Experts of the agency "AUTOSTAT" noted that the share of trucks from China is constantly growing. If at the end of June it was 31%, then in the first week of July it reached 37.6%, and in the second it increased to 44%. But the share of domestic brands for the week, on the contrary, fell from 50.5% to 43% (in June - 53%). The fact is that their sales between weeks fell by 21%, while among the "Chinese" they grew by 8%.

We also note that in the top ten of the most popular brands in the new truck market, a half is presented again by Chinese. The leader among them is Shacman/Shaanxi, the sales volume of which for the second week of July amounted to 233 units, which allowed it to take the 2nd place in the overall standings (only the Russian KAMAZ is higher). Then Howo (165 units, 3rd), FAW (112 units, 4th), JAC (71 units, 6th) and Hongyan (22 units, 9th) followed.
