The Chechenavto enterprise in the city of Argun, currently producing LADA Granta sedans, plans to start the cooperation with other automakers - Russian GAZ and Belarusian MAZ. Ruslan Abuev, deputy director of the plant, informed the Argumenty i Fakty newspaper about this.
According to him, an agreement between Chechnya and the Gorky Automobile Plant has already been signed. We are talking about the assembly of GAZelle NEXT, GAZelle Business, GAZon NEXT, which may begin as early as autumn. There is no need to install conveyor lines for this - assembly kits will be supplied to the republic.
The possibility of production of special vehicles, such as cranes or watch booths, was discussed with representatives of MAZ. They can also be assembled from large parts mounted on the chassis, without special machines.
Recall that in February 2008 AVTOVAZ announced the creation of an assembly plant in the Chechen Republic, which was organized in record time at the facilities of the State Unitary Enterprise "Argun Plant Pischemash". The design capacity of the plant is 50,000 vehicles per year, and the company employs more than 200 people.
