The share of automatic vehicles came up to 68% of the Russian market in the first half year

240,165 new passenger cars with automatic transmission (AT)* were sold in Russia over six months of 2022. According to the experts of AUTOSTAT agency based on analysis of the data from Electronic Passport company, this is 68.2% of the total sales. This is a record. For example, in 2021, automatic vehicles generated 66.5% of the Russian market. However, considering the monthly sales of vehicles with AT, their largest share (69.2%) was registered in February 2022. Since then, it began to reduce gradually to 66.3% in June. Experts of AUTOSTAT agency believe that the share of automatic vehicles will continue to decline in the coming months, as the supplies of vehicles of European, Japanese and American brands to our market is suspended.

LADA models are still equipped only with a manual gearbox, while the Korean brands continue to have problems with production. The only hope is Chinese manufacturers, but their sales are unlikely to change the overall situation.
